New Light Tent!

I mentioned in a previous post that I ordered a light tent, I wanted to show it to you. I'm not trying to be the Annie Leibovitz of card photography or anything, but I live in Seattle, so I have a hard time getting enough natural light for my pics.

When shopping for a light tent, I decided to spare no expense, as long as it was under $28. I also decided that lights are not an important component of a light tent and one that I could live without. Cuz when I do something new, I like to do it halfway!

So I decided on this light tent, and I decided that I could just use my Ott light and whatever other lamps I had in the house.
ETA: Looks like they're no longer available on Amazon, here's a link to the same item at Square Perfect.

So here's my ghetto studio! In this picture, I have the tent opening facing a window, so I get what little natural light there is on the project as well.

Overall, I'm happy with it.

Wow! This is amazing! But I have to wonder, what would anyone do with a 60" light tent? Put your kids in it? ;)

Your post made me giggle! I use an old tablecloth and pray that my photo editing will help out with my lack of true equipment! TFS your story.

Girl you ain't seen ghetto til you see my setup! I prop up a piece of white paper on the screen of my laptop and put one on the keyboard, my lamp is above it (el cheapo version from Sam's club!)! But I get some pretty nice shots! I think I may have to go look at some of those tents! I may have to take a photo of my setup to post on my blog!

Well, I think its fabulous. I've never even heard tell of a light tent before. I'd say it was $28 well spent, haha!!

I bought a cheapie too but mine came with two lights and I though I was going pro with that. Well, they are so fricken tiny that I have to use additional lighting anyway! Hey, the low lighting hides the flaws...

So glad to see this post! I just got a Normande Lighting Daylight Lamp...so I just need the 'tent' part as well! Thanks for the tip!

Krystie, you are cracking me up girl! You are way too clever. Personally, I think it's better without all the fancy lights. I bought them and all they do is give my photos a blue cast. I'm back to using natural light.
